LIONEL 773 Eng and 2624 TNDR-1950 ANNIVERSARY EDITION /LN. Golden Anniversary Hudson re-introduced in the line and based on the earlier semi-scaled PreWar 763. It was allocated famed 773 number. This unit had extensive modifications from the PreWar unit in that it came equipped with a smoke unit and magnetraction. It used the the same boiler front as the 736 and the boiler itself was decorated with an ornamental bell, turbo generator and wire handrails. The shell was painted a rich black and hexagonal flagstaffs adorned the pilot. The front and rear trucks were specifically designed for the 773. The rear truck is especially beautiful because the last wheels are spoked and larger than the two in front of them. A leverless E-Unit was included, eliminating the unsightly cavity in the boiler. Finally, it came with an operating headlight. The tender is probably the most expensive and elaboate tender ever made by Lionel and was probably so costly in production that it was soon discontinued - the famed 2624W Tender.
